Limerick Day: May 12

Coming Monday, May 12, it is Limerick Day :)

This form is credited to Edward Lear and popularized in his A Book of Nonsense. Here's an example of his craft:

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, 'It is just as I feared!
Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!

  1. Today is the 12th of May,
And each is his or her special way,
    Marks the moment,
    With a 5-line poem,
    And celebrates National Limerick Day!
